We have not appointed a data protection officer, as the legal requirements for doing so are not met. If you have questions about data protection, please write to the email address above.

2. Summary

  • We use no analytics, tracking or advertising services and no social media plugins.
  • We use no marketing or statistics cookies, which is why there is no cookie banner.
  • Fonts are served from our own server, not from Google.
  • The website runs on servers in Germany.
  • Photos you use in the configurator are processed in your browser. Only if you use the AI 3D environment is the photo transmitted (see section 7).

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in data centres in Germany. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Hetzner.

When you visit the website, our server automatically processes information transmitted by your browser: IP address, date and time of access, page or file requested, amount of data transferred, status code, referrer URL, browser type and operating system. This is technically necessary to deliver the website and to ensure its security and stability (e.g. defending against attacks). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Log files are deleted after 14 days at the latest unless needed longer to investigate a specific security incident.

Data is transmitted encrypted via HTTPS (TLS). To prevent abuse, we limit the number of certain requests per IP address; for this, the IP address is briefly held in memory and not stored permanently.

4. Contact form and email

If you contact us via the “Request a demo” form or by email, we process your details (company, contact person, email address and – optionally – phone number, website, timeframe, message and your package and billing selection) to handle your enquiry, offer you a demo and, where applicable, prepare a quote. You will receive an automatic confirmation at the email address provided.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries). We use STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany, as processor for sending email and for our mailbox. We delete your enquiry once it has been fully processed and no contract is concluded; otherwise statutory retention periods apply (Section 257 HGB, Section 147 AO; up to 6 or 10 years).

5. Cookies and browser storage

  • tv-lang (cookie, 12 months): your chosen language.
  • tv-theme (local storage): your choice of light or dark mode.
  • k3d-… (local storage): 3D display settings for your device and references to 3D environments already generated, so they need not be created again.

The legal basis is Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (strictly necessary for a service you explicitly requested) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can delete this data at any time in your browser settings.

6. 3D configurator

The configurator runs entirely in your browser. Your configuration is not stored on our server. If you share a configuration, it is contained in the link itself.

Use on our customers’ websites: Businesses embed the configurator on their own websites. The respective business is the controller for data that end customers enter or submit there; we process such data on its behalf pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Please contact the respective business regarding such data.

7. “My Photo” feature

Display in your photo: If you take or upload a photo of your house, it is processed in your browser. Marking the wall, calculating perspective and scale, and depth estimation take place locally on your device. The photo is not transmitted to us for this.

For depth estimation, your browser loads an AI model (Depth Anything V2) from Hugging Face (Hugging Face, Inc., USA) the first time it is used. Your IP address is transmitted to Hugging Face in the process; your photo does not leave your device. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. A transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out.

AI 3D environment (optional): Only with your consent is your photo transmitted via our server to Meshy (Meshy Inc., USA), which creates a 3D environment from it. Only the photo is transmitted, no names or contact details. Please use photos without recognisable people or licence plates. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; for the transfer to the USA Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR). There is a risk that US authorities may access the data without you having the same legal remedies as in the EU. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to withdraw consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): where we process data based on legitimate interests, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany. No automated decision-making, including profiling, takes place.

9. Changes

We update this privacy policy when our website, the configurator or the law changes.
